Ingredients
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Activated Baking Soda - 0.1 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Lean Beef - 10.6 oz
- Spanish onions - 2 pieces
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Safflower Oil - 13 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix sugar with dry yeast.
Step 2
Add baking soda and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Warm the milk to 37–104°F and add it to the yeast mixture.
Step 4
Place the mixture in a warm place for 10–15 minutes.
Step 5
Add eggs and mayonnaise to the mixture. Mix well.
Step 6
Sift the flour and knead the dough.
Step 7
Knead the dough for 10 minutes.
Step 8
Divide the dough into equal parts of about 50 grams each.
Step 9
Roll out the dough into circles with a diameter of 15–20 cm.
Step 10
In the center of each circle, place a thin layer of seasoned ground beef mixed with finely chopped onions and olive oil, leaving a 1–1.5 cm border around the edge.
Step 11
Pinch the edges in a pleated manner, leaving an opening in the center.
Step 12
Heat sunflower oil in a pan until boiling.
Step 13
Place the belyashi in the hot oil with the opening side down and fry for 1 minute.
Step 14
Flip and spoon oil into the center of the belyash to cook the filling inside. Fry for 1–2 minutes.
Step 15
It is best to serve the belyashi hot.
