Ingredients
- Grapefruits - 8.8 oz
- Water - 1 qt
- Vinegar essence - 20 fl oz
- Sugar - 2½ cups
- Salt - 3 tablespoons
- Fresh Berries - 8.8 oz
- Spices - 0.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Almost any berries and fruits will work: apples, pears, gooseberries, plums, grapes, black and red currants, cherries, sweet cherries, cloudberries, and melons should be thoroughly washed and dried.
Step 2
Cut the apples, pears, and melon into pieces, separate the grapes into small bunches, and leave the currants on their stems. Place them in jars or bottles with wide openings.
Step 3
Prepare a brine from water, vinegar, sugar, and salt, adding allspice, bay leaf, cloves, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, then cool and pour over the fruits.
Step 4
Seal the bottles or jars and store them in a cool place.
