Yield: 20 cookies
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 6.7 oz
- Baking Powder - 0.2 oz
- Salt - 0 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Saffron - 0.1 oz
- Milk - 1 fl oz
- Liquid dark chocolate - 3.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F.
Step 2
Mix the dry ingredients: flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, and saffron. Make a well in the center of this mixture and pour in the milk, melted butter, egg, and finally the chocolate, kneading to form a sticky dough. Divide the dough into two halves, roll them into balls, and then shape the balls into logs about 15 cm long. Chill the logs in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 3
Place the logs of dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes. Remove, cool for 15 minutes, slice into 1 cm thick pieces, return the slices to the tray on their sides, and bake in the oven, reducing the temperature to 302°F, for an additional 15-20 minutes. Remove, cool, and serve with espresso.
