Blackcurrant Jam Pie
Ingredients
- Butter - 4.9 oz
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Vanilla salt - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Blackcurrant liqueur - 12.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix sugar with chopped butter.
Step 2
Add sifted flour, baking soda, salt, and vanilla sugar. Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 3
Add the yolks to the resulting mixture. Mix well again.
Step 4
Roll the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap, then place it in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
Step 5
Divide the dough into 2 parts: 2/3 and 1/3. Grate the larger part on a coarse grater, place it in a greased baking dish, pressing down slightly and forming edges about 2 cm high.
Step 6
Spread the jam over the surface of the dough (it is best to use a jam that is not too runny, so blackcurrant works very well).
Step 7
Grate the remaining dough. Cover the jam with it.
Step 8
Bake for about 30–40 minutes at 356°F (until golden brown). Place in a warm oven.
Step 9
After removing the pie from the oven, let it cool and only then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
