Blackcurrant Jelly
Ingredients
- Blackcurrant liqueur - 12.3 oz
- Sugar - 4.2 oz
- Lemon - ¼ piece
- Gelatin - 1 teaspoon
- Orange zest - ¼ piece
- Vanillin - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sort the blackcurrants, rinse them, sprinkle with sugar, and let sit for a few hours (or overnight). Soak the gelatin in 100 ml of cold boiled water and let it sit for 2-3 hours.
Step 2
Finely chop the lemon and orange (preferably with a very sharp knife to cut rather than crush), add to the berries, place on the heat, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 3
At the end, add the swollen gelatin and vanillin, bring to a boil again and turn off the heat. Once cooled, pour into a pre-sterilized jar. Use as needed.
