Description
Another name is Gogra. It is eaten with a teaspoon. There is no need for a plate, as the pumpkin skin serves as a sort of plate.
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 1 piece
- Water - 8 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the pumpkin, cut it into portion-sized pieces (as shown in the photo). Remove the seeds and pulp. Rinse again.
Step 2
Pour one glass of water into a pot just enough to cover the bottom, plus a little more. Place the pumpkin pieces with the hollow side facing the water and the skin side up, but do not put the hollow side in the water; arrange them in a circle, side by side. If the pumpkin is large, place additional pieces on top of the first ones. It is important that the flesh of the pumpkin is above the water, as it will cook thanks to the steam. Cover with a lid and set on low heat. Cook until it becomes soft enough. Cooking time depends on the pumpkin, its size, variety, etc.
Step 3
When the pumpkin is cooked, remove it, let it cool slightly, and it can be served.
