Description

You can add any fruits you like. The quantity of ingredients depends on the size of the cake and the baking dish used.

Ingredients

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk with Coffee - 1 can
  • Milk - 16 fl oz
  • Corn Starch - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg white - 2 pieces
  • Vinegar essence - ½ teaspoon
  • Heavy cream - 8 fl oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 4.2 oz
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cookie - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a large saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, 240 ml of milk, egg yolks, and vanilla. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the remaining 240 ml of milk with cornstarch until fully dissolved. Once the mixture on the stove starts to bubble, slowly add the milk and cornstarch mixture while continuing to stir. Remove from heat as soon as the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.

Step 3

Pour a little of the mixture into the baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. Layer one layer of 'Maria' cookies (or 'Ladyfingers') on top of the cream. Add a layer of sliced fruits (such as strawberries and bananas) over the cookies before adding more of the mixture. Then add another layer of cream on top and repeat with another layer of cookies and another layer of fruit (if desired).

Step 4

In a bowl, mix the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until it turns into thick whipped cream. Spread it over the surface of the cake.

Step 5

Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 3-4 hours). You can sprinkle nuts or grated chocolate on top before serving.
