Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1¾ cups
- Coarsely Ground Rye Flour - 1¾ cups
- Bran - to taste
- Peanut Sprouts - 3 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Ground Oats - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Buttermilk - 2 cups
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 428°F. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix together the wheat flour, coarse flour, bran, wheat sprouts, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and add the butter cut into small pieces. Knead by hand until the dough resembles crumbs.
Step 3
Then add the buttermilk and knead the dough well, transfer it to the prepared pan, and bake until done, checking with a wooden stick, for about 40 minutes.
Step 4
Turn the bread out onto a plate and let it cool.
