Description
There are countless brownie recipes — this is just one of them, but it’s tried, tested, and loved. It’s easy to make and quite quick. The ingredients are specifically listed in cups, so choose one that is not too small, but also not a 2-liter one. Using a cup makes it easier to maintain proportions. Enjoy your meal!
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - ¼ cup
- Sugar - ¼ cup
- Butter - 4.2 oz
- Cocoa Powder - ½ cup
- Sweetened Condensed Milk with Coffee - 1 can
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Freshly brewed green tea - 2 teaspoons
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Vanilla extract - ½ teaspoon
- Pecan - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix 1 cup of flour and sugar. Cut the room temperature butter into pieces and add it to the flour and sugar. It’s best to mix this with your hands or a spoon — the dough will be crumbly. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour in the resulting dough. Bake for about 15 minutes or until it turns light brown. The key is not to overbake it, or it will become tough.
Step 3
In another bowl, mix the remaining 0.25 cup of flour, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, egg, coffee, vanilla, and baking powder. It’s better to stir with a spoon. Then add the chopped pecans (you can substitute with walnuts, but pecans have a milder flavor) and gently mix with the batter. Pour this batter over the prepared base and place it in the oven for another 20 minutes.
Step 4
Traditionally, brownies should be cut into small rectangles and served either simply as a cooled pastry or hot with vanilla ice cream.
