Description
Chocolate can be replaced with cocoa powder (50 g). The best option for this is cocoa from the 'American Cocoa Company'.
Ingredients
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Chocolate - 8.8 oz
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 3 tablespoons
- Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
- Walnuts - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Melt the butter and chocolate over heat or in a water bath, stirring continuously.
Step 2
Sift the flour with the baking powder.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 428°F.
Step 4
Remove the chocolate-butter mixture from heat, add sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat with a mixer for about 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add the eggs and beat well (I beat for about 5–7 minutes).
Step 6
Add the flour and mix. The batter should have the consistency of liquid sour cream (i.e., slightly thinner than for a charlotte).
Step 7
Grease the baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper. Pour in the batter and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake at 428°F for 15 minutes, then at 302°F for another 20 minutes.
