- Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
- Milk - 21 fl oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Salt - ¾ teaspoon
- Dry yeast - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, pour in 625 ml of warm milk (or water), dissolve the yeast in it, and while stirring, add half of the flour. Knead until there are no lumps, cover the bowl with a towel or napkin, and place it in a warm place.
Step 2
When the sponge rises, add salt, sugar, melted butter or margarine (you can also add 2–3 eggs, vanilla, or ground cardamom), mix well, add the remaining flour, and knead until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl and the spoon.
Step 3
After that, cover the bowl with the dough again and place it in a warm place for a second rise. Once the dough has doubled in size, transfer it to a floured board and divide it into balls weighing about 50–60 g. Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lightly greased with oil, let the buns rise in a warm place, then brush them with beaten egg and bake in a hot oven for 12–15 minutes.
