Description
Buttermilk waffles with almond-cherry sauce and whipped cream
Ingredients
- Frozen Cherimoya Fruits - 12 oz
- Chili jam - 1 jar
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Almond - ½ teaspoon
- Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Baking Powder - 1½ teaspoons
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Buttermilk - 2 cups
- Butter - 9 tablespoons
- Whipped Cream - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a small saucepan, combine the cherries and jam. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the cherries start to release their juice. Cook for about 3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, remove from heat, and stir in the almond extract.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 302°F. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the buttermilk, then add 6 tablespoons of softened butter.
Step 3
Preheat the waffle iron. Grease both surfaces with butter and pour in 0.5 cups of batter. Cook the waffle. Repeat with the remaining batter, making waffles of the same size. Keep the waffles warm in a slightly heated oven.
Step 4
Place the waffles on plates and serve with whipped cream and sauce.
