Cabbage and Carrot Pies

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 35.3 oz
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons
  • Carrot - 1 piece
  • Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
  • White Cabbage - 17.6 oz
  • Onion - 2 pieces
  • Red Long Chili Peppers - to taste
  • Kefir - ½ l
  • Chicken Egg - 2 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Dough. Sift the flour beforehand, add salt, baking soda, and mix the ingredients. Make a small well in the mixture of flour, salt, and soda, and add 1 egg and kefir. Knead the dough and let it rest for a while.

Step 2

Filling. Cut the carrot into strips and sauté over low heat. Add finely chopped onion and cabbage (salt and pepper to taste) to the carrot and sauté for another 10 minutes. Then cover with a lid and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Step 3

Pies. Take a small ball of dough (if the dough sticks to your hands, you can grease your hands with a small amount of vegetable oil), flatten it into a patty, place the filling in the center of the patty (the amount of filling is up to your discretion) and seal the edges.

Step 4

Break the egg, mix the white with the yolk, add 3 tablespoons of water, and mix the ingredients. Brush the pies with this mixture.

Step 5

Baking. Grease a baking sheet with a small amount of oil. Preheat the oven for about 30–40 minutes. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 30 minutes and bake the pies at a temperature of 392°F.
