Description
To quickly mix the cabbage, place the shredded cabbage and carrots in a large plastic bag. Tie or tightly hold the handles of the bag. Grab both ends and shake it 3–4 times. Done. The cabbage and carrots are evenly mixed.

- White Cabbage - 4 lbs
- Turnips - 2 pieces
- Water - 1 qt
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 2 tablespoons
- Vinegar essence - 5 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thinly shred the cabbage. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Step 2
Gently mix the cabbage with the carrots, but do not mash. Place in a three-liter jar. Do not pack the cabbage tightly in the jar.
Step 3
Pour in the cold brine. For the brine: bring the water with salt and sugar to a boil, remove from heat. Add the vinegar. Let it cool.
Step 4
Leave the cabbage uncovered at room temperature for 12 hours.
Step 5
After 12 hours, cover the jar with a plastic lid and place it in the refrigerator. The cabbage will be ready in 3 days.
