Cabbage Pie
Ingredients
- Butter - 8.8 oz
- 10% cream - 7.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 9.9 oz
- White Cabbage - 24.7 oz
- Milk - 12 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide

Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Pour the flour into a large bowl. Grate 200 grams of very cold butter using a coarse grater, occasionally dipping it in the flour for ease.
Step 3
Mix the butter with the flour until it resembles crumbs.
Step 4
Add the sour cream and start mixing the dough with a spoon. Once the ingredients come together, continue kneading with your hands until the dough forms a firm ball.
Step 5
Shape into a thick patty, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30–40 minutes.
Step 6
Place 4 eggs in cold water, put on the heat, and boil for 8 minutes after the water starts to boil. Then, let them sit in hot water for the same amount of time.
Step 7
Finely shred the cabbage.
Step 8
Squeeze the cabbage with your hands and transfer it to the skillet.
Step 9
Pour 350 ml of milk into the cabbage, add sugar, place it over heat, bring to a boil, and simmer on low heat until the cabbage is tender.
Step 10
At the end of the stewing process, season the cabbage with salt to taste and add 50 grams of butter. Increase the heat and continue to stew, stirring until all the milk has evaporated.
Step 11
Let the cabbage cool. To speed up the cooling process, you can transfer it to a clean dish.
Step 12
Chop the boiled eggs finely and add them to the cabbage.
Step 13
Divide the dough into two parts. Roll one part out to a thickness of about 5 mm.
Step 14
Press the dough into the bottom and sides of a 26 cm diameter baking pan and sprinkle it with cornstarch (this is to prevent moisture from the filling from making the dough soggy).
Step 15
Spread the cabbage filling over the dough.
Step 16
Roll out the second part of the dough into a circle the size of the pie and cover the cabbage filling with it.
Step 17
Pinch the edges of the dough together. You can use a fork to press the tines along the edges of the dough.
Step 18
Brush the pie with a mixture of egg and milk if you want it to be golden and glossy. Create a small hole in the center of the pie for steam to escape.
Step 19
Place the pie in an oven preheated to 356°F and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
