Description
Cake Pops
Ingredients
- Sponge Cake Base - 2 pieces
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Condensed Milk - 2.1 oz
- White Chocolate - 4 pieces
- Pastry decorations - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the cream. Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance, and when it becomes soft, beat it in a mixer until white and gradually pour in the condensed milk.
Step 2
Crumble the prepared cake base (I used 'Viennese chocolate sponge' layers, two packs, each containing 3 thin layers) until the mixture is uniform, without large chunks.
Step 3
Add the cream to the mixture gradually, just a little at a time, so it doesn't become too liquid; the mixture should be dense enough to form balls.
Step 4
Roll the mixture into balls about 4-5 cm in diameter, place them on a tray (a baking sheet or cutting board will work) lined with parchment paper, and refrigerate for about an hour.
Step 5
Prepare the candy sticks. I couldn't find any, so I used skewers for souvlaki, cut off the sharp tip, and divided the stick in half.
Step 6
Melt some white chocolate (or milk chocolate, to taste), preferably in a mug in the microwave or in any other tall and fairly narrow container.
Step 7
Remove the balls from the refrigerator. Dip the stick into the chocolate about 2-2.5 cm and insert it into the cake ball. Place the balls back in the refrigerator for another 20 minutes.
Step 8
Prepare the decorative sprinkles. Melt enough chocolate to fully immerse the cake ball on a stick. Remove a maximum of 4 balls at a time. Dip each ball into the chocolate, but do not rotate it; instead, tilt it in different directions to ensure it is completely covered, while the chocolate on the stick should connect with the chocolate on the ball. Shake off the excess chocolate by tapping the back of your hand while gently rotating the dessert. Decorate to taste.
Step 9
If the cake pops will be standing in a glass, it's easier to use foam for cooling the chocolate; otherwise, simply place the cake pop stick-side up on parchment paper.
