Description
Cake with oranges, pineapple, and walnuts
Ingredients
- Butter - 12 teaspoons
- Dark rum - 0,7 glasses
- Canned Pineapple Chunks - 10.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1½ glasses
- Sugar - 1 glass
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 tablespoon
- Oranges - 2 pieces
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Vanillin - 1 tablespoon
- Walnuts - 2.3 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 1½ glasses
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F. Grease a cake pan with butter and dust with flour. Chop the candied fruit, zest the oranges using a grater, and squeeze out 1/3 cup of juice. In a saucepan, pour in half a cup of rum, add the chopped candied fruit, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let it sit for fifteen to twenty minutes.
Step 2
Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside. Using a mixer, beat the butter with the sugar and zest until fluffy, then add the eggs, juice, and vanilla. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture. Add the pineapple and chopped nuts, stir to combine, and pour into a baking pan. Bake for one hour and fifteen minutes, then let cool. Use a wooden skewer to make holes in the surface of the cake and gently pour in the remaining rum. Wrap the cake in plastic wrap and let it rest for a day.
Step 3
Whisk the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of water and coat the cake with the glaze.
