Description
Cantucci cookies are a traditional Italian treat, known for their crunchy texture and delightful flavor. Perfect for dipping in coffee or tea, these almond-infused biscuits are often enjoyed as a sweet snack or dessert. They are simple to make and are sure to impress your friends and family at gatherings or casual get-togethers.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 9.9 oz
- Sugar - 4.6 oz
- Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Vanilla salt - 0 oz
- Chicken Egg - 4 pieces
- Almond - 2.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, then make a well in the center of the mixture.
Step 2
Beat 3 eggs with vanilla sugar and add them to the well in the flour mixture.
Step 3
Mix everything by hand until you achieve a uniform, sticky dough.
Step 4
Add the almond nuts and mix again. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and roll them into logs with your hands (you can moisten your hands with cold water to prevent the dough from sticking).
Step 5
Place the sausage-shaped dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet greased with oil, and brush the tops with the beaten fourth egg. Put the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 347°F for 15–20 minutes.
Step 6
Remove the slightly browned sausages and slice them diagonally into 1.5 cm thick pieces. The almonds should have softened nicely in the oven. Lay all the slices back on the baking sheet and bake for another 20 minutes until the crust turns a dark golden brown.
Step 7
Place them on a towel and let them cool. They should dry properly — if you have enough patience.
