This is a great dessert for a romantic candlelit dinner.
Ingredients
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Water - 1 fl oz
- Whipped Cream - 10 fl oz
- Cognac - 1 fl oz
- Butter - 0.5 oz
- Strawberry - 10 pieces
- Pears - 2 pieces
- Crabapples - 2 pieces
- Bananas - 2 pieces
- Mandarins - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Place over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and cook, without stirring, until it turns caramel color, occasionally splashing with water and shaking the pan, about 3 minutes.
Step 2
Add the warm whipped cream to the caramel and set over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and reduces to 300 ml, about 5 minutes. Add the cognac and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and stir in the butter.
Step 3
Pour the mixture into a small fondue pot and place over a burner. Cut the fruits and serve.
