Caramelized Apples with Fresh Rosemary
Ingredients
- Cider - 12 fl oz
- Fresh Rose Hips - 3 sprigs
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon
- Coarse Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Green Apples - 3 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
- Natural Yogurt - 8 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
Step 2
In a saucepan, bring the cider and rosemary to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove the rosemary.
Step 3
Peel the apples and remove the cores, then cut each into 12 wedges.
Step 4
In a large bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the apples and toss to coat.
Step 5
Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil. Arrange the apples in a single layer and bake for 9 minutes. Then stir and return to the oven for another 5 minutes.
Step 6
Carefully pour the cider over the apples and return to the oven for 5 minutes until the apples are tender.
Step 7
Preheat the broiler in the oven and place the baking sheet under it for a couple of minutes to lightly brown the apples.
Step 8
Serve the apples with the syrup in dessert bowls and accompany with yogurt.
