Description
Perfect as a sauce for vanilla ice cream, crème caramel, and panna cotta. Can be added to green salads. Great for making a wine sauce for duck.
Ingredients
- Water - 8 fl oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Kumquat - 3.9 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a small saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Step 2
Cut the kumquat into quarters and add to the syrup. Reduce the heat and simmer until the kumquat becomes very soft and translucent, about 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Let cool, then cover and refrigerate.
