Ingredients
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Turnips - 10.6 oz
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Raisins - 3.5 oz
- Milk - 3 tablespoons
- Dry yeast - 1½ tablespoons
- Sour Cream - 8.8 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 4 teaspoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Nutmeg - a pinch
- Powdered Sugar - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel and grate the carrots.
Step 2
Cream the butter with the sugar. Add the milk, beat in the eggs, and mix well. Add the grated carrots and mix again.
Step 3
Mix the yeast with the flour, add the spices, raisins, and continuously stir in the milk-egg mixture. Knead the dough.
Step 4
Grease a baking pan with butter, sprinkle with flour, pour in the dough, smooth it out, and bake for one hour. Let it cool.
Step 5
Whip the sour cream with the powdered sugar and lemon juice.
Step 6
Cut the cake into 2 layers and fill with the cream. Use the remaining cream to drizzle over the top of the cake.
