Carrot Halva with Pistachios
Ingredients
- Turnips - 24.7 oz
- Milk - 24 fl oz
- Cardamom - 8 pieces
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Raisins - 1.1 oz
- Pistachios - 2.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 1 jar
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the carrots using a coarse grater.
Step 2
Crush the cardamom pods.
Step 3
Place the carrots, milk, and cardamom pods in a heavy-bottomed pot and bring to a boil. Then simmer the mixture uncovered for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet, add the carrot mixture, and fry for 10-15 minutes. Add the sugar, raisins, and half of the crushed pistachios. Mix well. Keep on heat for another 1-2 minutes to warm the mixture thoroughly.
Step 5
Serve warm, drizzled with sour cream and sprinkled with the remaining pistachios.
