Description
A simple recipe that works well as a light snack or as a side dish for an omelet at breakfast. Just 15 minutes, and the taste is excellent — the bland cauliflower perfectly complements the salty bacon. For the recipe, it's best to use fresh cauliflower or, at the very least, high-quality frozen (to ensure it doesn't turn to mush when boiled).
Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1 head
- Semi-Smoked Sausage - 5.3 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Separate the head of cauliflower into individual florets and boil for 5 minutes in lightly salted boiling water. Drain in a colander.
Step 2
If you find pre-cut diced bacon for sale — great. If not, cut a piece of bacon into small strips about 0.5 by 1 cm. Sauté the bacon in a skillet for about 5 minutes (just be careful not to overcook it, this is just a preliminary frying). No oil is needed, as the fat from the bacon will do the job.
Step 3
Add the cauliflower to the bacon. At this stage, if you like, you can add finely chopped garlic. Mix everything together and sauté for another 5 minutes (there's no need to add salt, as the smoked bacon already contains salt, but still, adjust to your taste). Everything is ready!
