Description
This is a traditional Jewish Passover dish. It symbolizes the mortar used by the Jews during their construction in Egypt.
Ingredients
- Chopped almonds - 2.5 oz
- Dried Apricots - 4.9 oz
- Pistachios - 2.5 oz
- Pitted olives - 2.1 oz
- Sherry - ½ cup
- Orange zest - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon
- Cayenne Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
- Cardamom - ¼ teaspoon

Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Place the almonds and pistachios in a food processor and chop.
Step 3
Add the chopped dried apricots and pitted dates, and chop again.
Step 4
Add the sherry, zest, cinnamon, cardamom, and cayenne pepper.
Step 5
Mix everything well until the mixture is homogeneous.
