Description
Today I want to present to you a very economical way to prepare dough for pies and donuts — this dough is made with kefir.
Ingredients
- Kefir - 7 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 1 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Russian Cheese - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add the unquenched baking soda to the kefir and set aside for about twenty minutes. Bubbles will appear on the surface, meaning the soda is activated.
Step 2
Next, pour in the sunflower oil and add the flour.
Step 3
Use the flour to bring the dough to a consistency that does not stick to your hands. Divide it into 2 parts.
Step 4
The filling can be anything; I suggest a very simple and tasty option — boiled eggs with cheese. Cut the eggs into cubes, grate the cheese, add a little salt, and if you have fresh herbs, you can add them too.
Step 5
Roll out both halves of the dough into approximately equal layers. On one layer, use a glass to mark the size of the future pies. Place the filling in the marked circles.
Step 6
Cover with the second layer of dough, and using the same glass, cut out the pies, ensuring the egg and cheese filling is inside, and seal the edges well.
Step 7
Fry them in a large amount of sunflower oil until golden brown.
