Description
Any spices can be used instead of pink pepper: other types of pepper, dried herbs, sesame seeds, cumin, poppy seeds, etc. However, pink pepper gives the dish a finished look and adds a certain charm, not to mention how interesting the pink peppercorns look on the golden surface of the cookies.
Ingredients
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Hard Cheese - 7.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 5.3 oz
- 10% cream - 0 fl oz
- Baking Powder - 0.2 oz
- Olive Oil - to taste
- Pasilla Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soften the butter. On average, this takes about 15 minutes: just leave it at room temperature.
Step 2
While the butter is softening, grate the cheese.
Step 3
Mix the cheese, flour, butter, cream, and baking powder (baking soda can also be used). Knead the dough until it is pliable.
Step 4
After that, roll out the dough on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin and cut out circles/diamonds or other shapes to your liking using a glass or cookie cutter. Ideally, the cookies should be about 1 cm thick and approximately 6 cm in diameter.
Step 5
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with olive oil, decorate with spices, and place in a preheated oven at 356°F. Baking time: 20 minutes, until the cookies have a golden hue.
