Cheese Easter bread without yeast
Ingredients
- Vanilla extract - 0.2 oz
- Dried Apricots - 7.1 oz
- Walnuts - 3.5 oz
- Citric Acid - 0.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Wheat Flour - 15.9 oz
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Sugar - 14.1 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Salt - 0.1 oz
- Cottage cheese - 15.9 oz
- Chicken Egg - 6 pieces
- Pastry decorations - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Pass the cottage cheese through a sieve or blend it with a mixer to eliminate any lumps.
Step 3
Lightly beat 4 eggs and 2 yolks until smooth.
Step 4
Add the strained cottage cheese, sugar, salt, and vanilla paste to the eggs.
Step 5
Pour in the melted butter and mix well.
Step 6
Sift the flour with the baking powder and gradually incorporate them into the dough.
Step 7
Chop the dried apricots and nuts into small pieces and fold them into the dough.
Step 8
Place the dough into the Easter cake molds (if using reusable molds, grease them with vegetable oil), filling them two-thirds full.
Step 9
Bake the kulich in an oven preheated to 356°F for 60 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a skewer into the center; it should come out clean. Allow the finished kulich to cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 10
For the glaze, beat the remaining egg whites with powdered sugar, and at the end, add lemon juice.
Step 11
Dip the kulich in the glaze, and if desired, decorate with confectionery sprinkles.
Step 12
Serve the kulich for the Easter celebration.
