Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1½ glasses
- Cottage cheese - 8.8 oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - ¼ spoons
- Activated Baking Soda - a pinch
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Cheese Spread - 7.1 oz
- Sour Cream - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the cottage cheese with melted butter, add a pinch of baking soda neutralized with lemon juice or vinegar, sugar, and 1 egg. Gradually incorporate 1.5 cups of flour into the mixture and knead the dough until smooth.
Step 2
For the filling, grate the cheese (it's best to use Georgian sulguni cheese or feta), mix the cheese with 1 egg and a tablespoon of sour cream, and add a finely chopped clove of garlic.
Step 3
Divide the dough into 8 portions and roll them out into round flatbreads. Place the filling on the bottom flatbread, and fold the edges of the top flatbread under the bottom one. Brush the top with egg and pierce it in several places with a fork. Bake for 45 minutes in the oven at 392°F.
