Cheesy Puff Sticks
Ingredients
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 7.1 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Puff Pastry - 14.1 oz
- Water - to taste
- Toasted Sesame - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Roll out the pastry (yeast or non-yeast — it doesn't matter) into a rectangle.
Step 2
Mix the egg yolk with a small amount of water (just a couple of drops).
Step 3
Brush the rectangle of pastry with the yolk.
Step 4
Visually divide the pastry into 2 parts. On one half, place the grated Parmesan (add as much as you like, I prefer a lot).
Step 5
Cover with the other half. Press down slightly with your fingers.
Step 6
Cut a vertical strip about 1–1.5 cm wide. Twist the strip into a rope.
Step 7
Place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 8
Brush the tops of the strips with the yolk again. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Step 9
Send the strips to a preheated oven at 392°F.
Step 10
Bake for 15 minutes in regular mode and another 3–4 minutes in convection mode (to brown).
