Description
The cake can be decorated with melted chocolate or icing, and can also be soaked in syrup. This recipe is perfect for everyday baking.
Ingredients
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 teaspoon
- Cherries in Liqueur - 1 tablespoon
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Marinated cherries - 10.6 oz
- Walnuts - 7.1 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pit the cherries, add sugar and cinnamon, and place them in a sieve to drain the juice. Chop the walnuts with a knife.
Step 2
Beat the butter with sugar on medium speed. Then, while continuing to beat, add the eggs one at a time, along with a bit of vanilla and the zest. Without turning off the mixer, add the flour with baking powder, then 1 tablespoon of liqueur, and mix the batter.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with flour. Place part of the batter in the pan, add the cherries on top, then more batter, followed by the walnuts—repeat this layering according to the amount of filling. Bake in the oven for 45–50 minutes.
Step 4
Check the readiness of the cake with a toothpick. If it comes out dry, the cake is ready. Let the cake cool on a rack. Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar.
