Chestnut Cookies are another very interesting and incredibly delicious recipe for homemade pastries. The sweets are easy to prepare, and this recipe allows for some freedom in choosing ingredients. For example, you can add walnuts or any other nuts to the cookies, or you can skip them entirely. The cookies can also be coated in wafer crumbs or shredded coconut, but that is not necessary. As for the taste of the cookies themselves, it is primarily shaped by the large number of egg yolks, which are harmoniously complemented by dark chocolate.

Ingredients

  • Sour Cream - 3 tablespoons
  • Vinegar essence - 2 teaspoons
  • Wheat Flour - 2 cups
  • Vanillin - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk - 5 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Cocoa Powder - 3 tablespoons
  • Butter - 8.8 oz
  • Egg white - 4 pieces
  • Wafer cakes - 52.9 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Boil the eggs hard.

Step 2

Separate the egg yolk from the white and mash it with 200 g of butter.

Step 3

Add 5 tablespoons of sugar, sour cream, and the baking soda quenched with vinegar to the mashed yolk and butter mixture.

Step 4

Next, add the flour.

Step 5

Then knead the dough (it should be soft) and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Step 6

Remove the chilled dough from the refrigerator and roll it into balls the size of real chestnuts without the green skin.

Step 7

Place a quarter of a nut inside each ball and wrap it in dough.

Step 8

Arrange the balls on a baking sheet greased with sunflower oil and put it in the oven for 35 minutes at 356°F.

Step 9

For the glaze, mix 50 g of butter, cocoa, milk, and the remaining sugar and heat it.

Step 10

Pour the chocolate over the finished balls.

Step 11

Crush the wafers to make crumbs.

Step 12

Sprinkle the balls with wafer crumbs.
