Description

Chicken, Vegetable, and Cheese Pie with Ready-made Yeast Dough

Ingredients

  • Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 17.6 oz
  • Morels - 7.1 oz
  • Onion - 2 pieces
  • Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil - to taste
  • Young zucchini - 1 piece
  • Spices - to taste
  • Passata Tomato Sauce - 7.1 oz
  • Sugar - 0 oz
  • Unleavened dough - 35.3 oz
  • Hard Cheese - 3.5 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Separate the chicken breasts from the bones and cut them into small pieces. Add salt to taste and bell pepper. If you like it spicier, you can add chili pepper.

Step 2

Chop the vegetables and mushrooms.

Step 3

Sauté the meat and vegetables in vegetable oil and add spices to taste.

Step 4

Mix the sautéed meat with the vegetables and tomato paste and let it simmer for a bit. If you find the filling too dry, you can add a little water or chicken broth. However, I usually get a juicy and flavorful filling without additional liquid.

Step 5

Remove the finished filling from the heat and let it cool while you prepare the dough. You can use store-bought dough or make it from your favorite recipe. I usually use store-bought yeast dough — it’s quick and delicious.

Step 6

Knead the dough and let it rest for a bit. Then roll out the dough and cut out circles for the future pies.

Step 7

Now that the filling has cooled, you can place it onto the dough circles. I make small pies, so one tablespoon of filling per pie is quite enough.

Step 8

Before wrapping the pie, don’t forget to sprinkle it with grated cheese.

Step 9

To make the pies golden and crispy, you can brush the wrapped pies with egg yolk.

Step 10

Bake the prepared pies in the oven at 482°F until done (in my electric oven, this takes about half an hour).
