Chocolate Bento Cake
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2.3 oz
- Sugar - 2.5 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 0.5 oz
- Baking Powder - ½ spoons
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ spoons
- Salt - ¼ spoons
- Boiling water - 2 fl oz
- Sour Cream - 2.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Vanilla extract - 1½ spoons
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 10.6 oz
- 33% Cream - 2 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - 2.1 oz
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
- Chocolate - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Grease a 12 cm round cake pan with butter and line it with parchment paper.
Step 3
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder into a large bowl, then add salt and sugar.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, mix hot water, sour cream, vegetable oil, egg, and 0.5 teaspoon of vanilla paste until smooth.
Step 5
Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead the dough.
Step 6
Transfer the dough to a baking dish and place it in the oven for 30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
Step 7
Let the cake sit in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 8
For the cream, whip together the cream cheese, vanilla paste, heavy cream, and 60 grams of powdered sugar until smooth.
Step 9
Set aside 2 tablespoons of cream and tint it with your favorite food coloring. You can use this to decorate the cake or to write a message.
Step 10
Once the cake layer has cooled, cut it into pieces, spread cream between them, and stack the layers on top of one another. Place it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes (or in the freezer for 10) to allow the cream to set, making it easier to work with the cake.
Step 11
Also cover the sides of the cake with frosting. Return the cake to the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 12
Decorate the cake before serving. Serve with tea.
