Chocolate Cake with Glaze

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 4.4 oz
  • Sour Cream - 1 can
  • Bitter - 6.3 oz
  • Sugar - 5.3 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
  • Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - 1½ teaspoons
  • Cocoa Powder - 1½ cups
  • Boiling water - ½ cup
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar - 2¼ cups

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Melt 180 grams of chocolate and 100 grams of butter in a water bath.

Step 2

Whisk 3 eggs and 150 grams of sugar until a white cream forms and the volume increases by 3 times.

Step 3

Add the melted chocolate to the egg mixture.

Step 4

Add 1 cup of sour cream and mix everything thoroughly.

Step 5

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda into the resulting mixture. Knead the dough well.

Step 6

Line a baking pan (24–26 cm) with parchment paper and grease it with butter. Bake at 347°F for 35–40 minutes.

Step 7

Cool the finished cake layer on a wire rack.

Step 8

Prepare the glaze. Whip room temperature butter until a white cream forms.

Step 9

Add cocoa. Mix on low speed until smooth.

Step 10

Add half a cup of hot water, almost boiling.

Step 11

Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar into the mixture.

Step 12

Cut the cake into 2/3 parts. You can spread the layers with jam (blueberry, currant, etc.). Coat the layers with glaze, leaving more for the top and sides of the cake.

Step 13

Decorate with berries if desired.
