Description
Chocolate Candies with Panforte
Ingredients
- Orange juice concentrate - 2 fl oz
- Black Fig - 3.2 oz
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Ground Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
- Orange zest - 1¼ teaspoons
- Ground clove - ¼ teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Hazelnut - 3.5 oz
- Mini Chocolate Chips - 4.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine quartered figs, orange juice, honey, nutmeg, cloves, and 1 tablespoon of zest. Place over medium heat and cook until the mixture becomes syrupy and coats the figs, stirring constantly, for about 6 minutes. Remove from heat and add cinnamon and the remaining zest, then stir in the nuts.
Step 2
Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler. Place 14 paper muffin liners on a baking sheet and pour 1 teaspoon of chocolate into each. Then, coat the sides of the liners with chocolate to create a thick layer.
Step 3
Place 1 teaspoon of the fig mixture in the center of each liner. Refrigerate for 1 hour, then remove the paper cups. Before serving, let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
