Description
Chocolate Cherry Dessert with Wafers for Valentine's Day
Ingredients
- Chocolate Sauce - 15.9 oz
- Mini Chocolate Chips - 12 oz
- Water - 3 tablespoons
- Crushed Vanilla Wafers - 9.2 oz
- Brandy - ¼ cup
- Vanilla Ice Cream - 2 qt
- Chocolate Sauce - 30 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine the chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, and water. Heat over low heat until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and add the brandy. Let it cool.
Step 2
Line a 25 cm round deep bowl with plastic wrap. Spread the cherry ice cream on the bottom and sides of the bowl, leaving 2 cm of clean edge at the top. Create a 15 cm deep indentation in the center. Place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Fill the indentation with chocolate ice cream and smooth it out. Top with a layer of wafers and press down slightly. Pour about 1 cup of chocolate sauce over the wafers and add another layer of the remaining wafers. Cover everything with plastic wrap and freeze overnight.
Step 3
Gently heat the remaining sauce over low heat, stirring constantly. Invert the dessert onto a plate, remove the plastic wrap, cut into segments, and serve with the sauce.
