Chocolate Coconut Donuts

Ingredients

  • Water - 8 fl oz
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
  • Sugar - 1.8 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Lemon-Pepper Mix - 0 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour - 22 oz
  • Butter - 2.1 oz
  • Liquid dark chocolate - 7.1 oz
  • Desiccated coconut - 1.1 oz
  • Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in half of the water.

Step 2

In another bowl, dissolve the salt and sugar in the remaining water. Gradually add the egg and lemon extract, flour, and butter.

Step 3

Knead the dough for about 8 minutes. Let it rise for 30 minutes. Punch down the dough to release air and stop fermentation. Let it rise for another 10 minutes. Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles with a diameter of 7.5 cm. Transfer the donuts to a lightly floured baking sheet. Place in a warm, covered area for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Heat the oil to 401°F. Fry the donuts. Cool them down. Dip one side of the donuts in melted chocolate. Sprinkle with shredded coconut.
