- Wheat Flour - 4.4 oz
- Self-rising flour - 4.4 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 2.1 oz
- Sugar - 22 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Liquid dark chocolate - 15.9 oz
- Butter - 15.9 oz
- Buttermilk - 4 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Instant coffee - 2 tablespoons
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F, grease a square baking pan measuring 23 by 23 cm. Line with parchment paper, leaving 2 cm overhang on the edges.
Step 2
Sift both flours, cocoa powder, and baking soda into a large bowl. Add sugar, mix, and make a well in the center. In a small saucepan, combine 250 grams of chopped chocolate and 250 grams of butter. Add 185 ml of water and heat over low heat until all ingredients melt and combine. Add the chocolate mixture to the dry ingredients.
Step 3
Mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, coffee, and eggs. Add to the chocolate mixture. Stir well and transfer to the prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour 40 minutes until done. Cool in the pan, then transfer to a plate.
Step 4
Combine the remaining chocolate and butter in a small saucepan and melt over low heat. Cool to room temperature, stirring constantly, until thickened. Invert the cake and spread with the glaze. Allow the glaze to set slightly before serving. Cut into 12 pieces.
