Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate-Sour Cream Frosting
Ingredients
- Milk - 3 fl oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 7.8 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 4 tablespoons
- Sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Baking Powder - 2 teaspoons
- Sour Cream - 5 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the batter, combine butter, cocoa, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
Step 2
Let it cool.
Step 3
Add the eggs to the cooled mixture and stir.
Step 4
Add baking powder and flour, and mix until a not too thick batter forms.
Step 5
Grease the cupcake molds (any kind, I used silicone) lightly with butter, fill them 2/3 full with batter. Place in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for 20–25 minutes.
Step 6
For the frosting, combine sour cream, cocoa, sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil (remove from heat as soon as the first bubbles appear). Let it cool.
Step 7
Spread the cooled frosting over the cooled cupcakes. Optionally, decorate with sprinkles or crushed nuts.
