Ingredients
- Black Pomegranate Molasses - 4.2 oz
- Butter - 4.2 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1½ cups
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Cocoa Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Cayenne Pepper - a pinch
- Ground clove - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
- Ground Nutmeg - a pinch
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine the molasses and butter. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring. Remove from heat and let cool to a warm temperature.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cocoa, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, cayenne pepper, black pepper, nutmeg, and salt.
Step 3
Pour the warm molasses and butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 374°F.

Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Then, shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet, slightly pressing down.
Step 6
Bake for about 8 minutes until done. Leave on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
