Description
Chocolate Macarons
Ingredients
- Almond - 5.6 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 1.3 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 11.5 oz
- Granulated sugar - 2.6 oz
- Egg white - 6 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 302°F.
Step 2
Blend the almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder using a blender for about two minutes.
Step 3
Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet (on parchment paper) and place it in the oven for five minutes to dry out.
Step 4
Then sift through a fine sieve.
Step 5
Whip the egg whites, gradually adding the sugar, until glossy.
Step 6
Add the almond-sugar mixture to the egg whites and mix well with a spatula; we added rum flavoring and mixed again — the egg mixture will become more viscous.
Step 7
Transfer this mixture to a piping bag and pipe the macarons onto a baking sheet (in our case — onto a mat).
Step 8
Leave for an hour (we left it for about 30 minutes) on the table until a crust forms. You can check by touching it with your finger.
Step 9
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes — after the first 6 minutes, turn the baking sheet 180 degrees and leave for another 6 minutes to ensure the macarons are baked through.
Step 10
Once the baking sheet is removed from the oven and the macarons have cooled — remove the halves from the mat, spread (pipe) cream on half of them, and cover with the remaining halves so that the cream stays between them.
Step 11
Macarons taste better when they sit in the refrigerator for a bit before serving.
