Description
Chocolate mousse is the simplest thing. It's easy to make; the main thing is to find suitable and, above all, real chocolate. This recipe uses two types. Bitter chocolate for the base, which is actually used to make the mousse. And milk chocolate, which is optional here — it's used to beautifully sprinkle the finished dessert, but if milk chocolate isn't really liked, this step can easily be skipped. The mousse is decorated with whipped cream, which is very appropriate here: it softens the natural bitterness of dark chocolate.
Ingredients
- Bittersweet Chocolate - 4.9 oz
- 33% Cream - 13 fl oz
- Egg white - 3 pieces
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Whipped Cream - to taste
- Liquid dark chocolate - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, stirring occasionally. Then set it aside.
Step 2
Whip the chilled cream until soft peaks form.
Step 3
Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form, gradually adding the sugar.
Step 4
Whisk the chocolate together with the egg whites until smooth and uniform.
Step 5
Add the cream and stir until well combined.
Step 6
Spoon the mousse into individual dessert cups, cover them with plastic wrap, and place them in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
Step 7
Before serving, garnish the mousse with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
