Chocolate, Nut, and Poppy Seed Cake
Ingredients
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Poppy seed paste - 1.1 oz
- Walnuts - 1.8 oz
- Chocolate - 1.8 oz
- Baking Powder - 2 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the chocolate into cubes, approximately 0.5 x 0.5 cm. Chop the nuts. Cream the butter with the sugar.
Step 2
Add the eggs and mix well.
Step 3
Add the baking powder and flour, and knead into a soft dough.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
Step 5
Add the nuts to one part and mix.
Step 6
Add the chocolate to another part and mix.
Step 7
Add the poppy seeds to the third part and mix.
Step 8
Grease the baking pan (I used a pan measuring 11 x 23 cm and 5 cm high) with butter.
Step 9
Place the dough with nuts in the pan.
Step 10
On top, layer the dough with chocolate, do not mix.
Step 11
Finally, layer the dough with poppy seeds on top, do not mix. Place in a preheated oven at 356°F.
Step 12
Bake for about 1 hour.
Step 13
Optionally, you can decorate the cake with icing and sprinkle with nuts or chocolate.
