Ingredients

  • Water - 4 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour - 11.6 oz
  • Dry yeast - 0.3 oz
  • Cocoa Powder - 1.1 oz
  • Sugar - 1.6 oz
  • Salt - 0.2 oz
  • Orange zest - 0.2 oz
  • Ground Cinnamon - 0.1 oz
  • Butter - 1.1 oz
  • Milk - 2 fl oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the yeast and warm water.

Step 2

In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, salt, zest, and cinnamon by hand. Mix in the finely chopped butter, then add the milk, egg, and yeast. Knead the dough well for a few minutes on a floured surface.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and turn it a few times to coat it completely with oil. Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and place it in a warm place for 1 hour.

Step 4

Place the dough on a floured surface and gently roll it into a rectangle. To shape the loaf, fold the edges from the short side to the center, seal well, and shape into a loaf. Stretch from the center to the desired length and place on a greased baking sheet. Lightly brush the top with vegetable oil and cover again with a towel or plastic wrap. Leave in a warm place for 1 hour.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 374°F.

Step 6

Place the baking sheet with the risen dough in the oven and immediately reduce the temperature to 356°F. Bake for 30-40 minutes until done. Transfer to a plate and cool.
