Description
Chocolate-Orange Chia Dessert
Ingredients
- Coconut Milk - 8 fl oz
- Oranges - 1 piece
- Cocoa Powder - 1.1 oz
- Agave Syrup - 1.1 oz
- Chia Seeds - 2.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Use a grater to zest half of the orange and squeeze out the juice. Slightly warm the plant-based milk (I used coconut milk, but you can substitute it with soy or almond milk).
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the cocoa powder (I used 2 heaping tablespoons), orange juice, orange zest, milk, syrup, and mix well with a whisk (mixer or blender) to avoid lumps. Add the chia seeds, mix well, and let sit for 10-15 minutes; then stir again and let sit for another 10 minutes.
Step 3
Mix the resulting mixture well again, distribute it into glasses (or dessert cups), and refrigerate for 8-10 hours. Take it out of the refrigerator 10-15 minutes before serving. Optionally, you can top it with an orange slice, nuts, coconut flakes, or berries.
