Chocolate Pear Cake

Ingredients

  • Chocolate - 5.3 oz
  • Butter - 5.3 oz
  • Peanut Sprouts - 3.5 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
  • Sugar - 4.2 oz
  • Pears - 2½ pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Melt the chocolate in a deep bowl over a water bath, add the butter, and stir with a spatula until the mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat and let it cool.

Step 2

Lightly roast the peanuts, blend them, and add to the chocolate mixture.

Step 3

Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Whisk the yolks with sugar until pale, and beat the whites until soft peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the cooled chocolate, then add the yolks and mix again.

Step 4

Peel the pears, cut them in half, and remove the cores.

Step 5

Grease a round baking pan with butter, pour in the batter, and arrange the pears cut side down.

Step 6

Bake for 35–40 minutes at 356°F until the pears are soft. Let it cool slightly, then carefully invert onto a serving plate.

Step 7

Dust the top with powdered sugar.
