Description
You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top. This recipe makes about 20–25 buns (I always make a double batch).
Ingredients
- Margarine - 4.4 oz
- Boiling water - 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs - 5 pieces
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Condensed Milk - 1 can
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Butter - 10.6 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Bring margarine, salt, and water to a boil, stir, and remove from heat. Gradually add flour, mix, return to low heat, and cook for 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat again and let it cool completely.
Step 2
Once the mixture has cooled, beat in the eggs one at a time (the dough should be stretchy and smooth). Spoon onto a baking sheet (the size of the spoon will determine the size of the buns), leaving space for them to rise. Place in a preheated oven and bake at medium heat for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
Step 3
Whip together condensed milk, softened butter, and the juice of 1 lemon.
Step 4
Let the buns cool and make a cut along the base with a knife, then fill with cream (don't overfill, or it will be too rich and sweet).
