Christmas Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2½ glasses
- Cocoa Powder - ¼ glasses
- Baking Powder - ½ spoons
- Salt - ½ spoons
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ spoons
- Activated Baking Soda - ¼ spoons
- Butter - 8.5 oz
- Chocolate - 3 oz
- Sugar - 1¼ glasses
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Vanilla extract - ½ spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon into a bowl. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Using a mixer, beat the softened butter, then add the sugar and continue beating until creamy.
Step 2
Add the egg and beat for another minute. Reduce the mixer speed to the lowest setting and incorporate the softened chocolate and vanilla. Then fold in the flour, knead well, and shape the dough into a ball. Divide the dough into 2 portions and roll them into balls again. Flatten them and shape into 2 discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 4
Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper until very thin, and use various cutters to cut out shapes. Repeat the same process with the second portion of the dough.
Step 5
Transfer the cookies to baking sheets and sprinkle with colored sugar or other decorations.
Step 6
Bake the cookies for 9-12 minutes until done, then let them cool on the baking sheet. Decorate with icing or confectionery decorations on top.
