Description

You can choose dried fruits to your liking. In total, there should be 3 cups of nuts, 2 cups of dried fruits, and 0.5 cups of additional ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - ¾ cup
  • Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
  • Brown Sugar - ¾ cup
  • Baking Powder - ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Activated Baking Soda - ¼ teaspoon
  • Vanilla salt - to taste
  • Dried Apricots - 2.6 oz
  • Pitted Wild Apricots - 2.6 oz
  • Pitted olives - 4.9 oz
  • Ground dried cherries - 1.1 oz
  • Green Figs - 3.4 oz
  • Walnuts - 13.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 302°F. Mix the flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda, add the dried fruits, sugar, and nuts, and mix thoroughly by hand.

Step 2

Beat the eggs with vanilla using a mixer until pale and the mixture increases in volume by about two times. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly by hand to ensure all dried fruits are coated with a thin layer of liquid batter.

Step 3

Line a baking pan with parchment paper, transfer the batter into it, press down to eliminate air pockets, and place it in the preheated oven for about 70–75 minutes. If baking two small cakes, reduce the time to one hour. If the surface starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil. The cake should be golden-brown in color.

Step 4

Remove from the oven and cool directly in the pan. Then wrap in parchment and store, if you can resist the temptation to try at least a small piece :)
